Tribal and ancient art inspire me. Here is a series of illustrations featuring African masks.

African masks are not only decorative. A lot of the ones you can see are or have been used in rituals that involve dances, chants. They usually represent spirits in nature.

 

For my series, I picked up animals from African wildlife and created masks based on them. I imagined people wearing them with costumes and performing dances. I kept the style minimal to reflect the spirit of ancient and tribal art.
